What is a graft?

Graft placement is a surgical procedure during which tissue is transplanted from one location to another. It can be taken from the same patient (autologous), another human (allogenic), or another organism of a different species (xenogenic), while there are also artificial synthetic transplants (alloplastic).

To guarantee successful implant treatment, in some cases a graft placement may be required. A bone graft may be necessary to provide sufficient support for the implant, while soft tissue grafts may be needed to ensure its longevity and the best possible aesthetic result.

Guided Bone Regeneration

Guided bone regeneration is the placement of bone graft in such a way as to ensure sufficient bone substrate in all dimensions, to ensure the correct and safe placement of one or several dental implants.
