Gingivectomy is the surgical removal of gum tissue and is performed mostly to periodontal patients to eliminate periodontal pockets between the teeth and gums. The procedure involves removing and reshaping loose, diseased gums in order to access and remove calculus concentrated under them and to create a more favorable environment for dental healing. The use of laser and local anesthesia guarantees a bloodless and painless procedure with no need for sutures, resulting in faster gum healing and reducing the chances of post-operative complications.

Gingivoplasty is the surgical reshaping of gum tissue around the teeth for aesthetic or functional reasons. Gingivoplasty can be performed to periodontal patients in combination with ginvectomy, in some cases using gingival tissue grafts. It can also be applied to reform unusually shaped gums to restore a more natural and aesthetically pleasing look.
