Dental veneers are thin tooth colored shells attached to the front surface of a tooth in order to protect it, and improve the aesthetic appeal of a patient’s smile.

Through their application, the shape, colour and position of a patient’s teeth can be altered, creating a unique smile catering to each patient’s specific requirements.

Veneers can be made of porcelane or composite resin.

Porcelane Veneers

Made of porcelane at a specialized dental lab.

Advantages:

  • Minimal dental substance removal.

  • Optimal natural appearance, since porcelane mimics perfectly the appearance of natural teeth.

  • Durability and longevity.

  • Porcelane does not stain and is not coloured by pigments.

Disadvantages:

  • Higher cost.

  • The procedure is lengthier, requiring multiple appointments until its completion.

  • Difficulty of alterations after placement.

In order to avoid such issues, an intra-oral simulation of the patient’s future smile (mock-up) at the earlier stages of its planning is advised.
